Chapter 8:

Kian

Sky had smelled good from the second Kian had gotten up. That’s why he’d climbed off the table and distanced himself, crossing the room to the window where he’d made the terrible discovery that they’d been snowed in.

Terrible, only in the sense that it meant being confined with an omega who was craving sex. Since it also meant avoiding that talk with his family about what would happen after the holidays, Kian wasn’t as put out about it as he should be.

Although, now, with Sky’s pheromones pumping into the small space of the workshop, it was getting harder and harder for Kian to find any problem with their predicament. It was almost as though that pep talk he’d given himself last night before bed hadn’t happened. Instead of recalling all the reasons he shouldn’t give in, he found himself wanting to do the exact opposite.

He'd resisted bedding Sky the once, but there was no way he was going to be able to do so again, not if the omega begged him all pretty like he’d done before. Kian would cave, he was sure of it, and what’s more, he wanted to.

He’d been awake for over an hour waiting for the omega so they could come up with a game plan for the rest of the day, but it hadn’t occurred to him that Sky would reenter heat once he had. It should have, but he’d been so caught up in playing the script for his family in his head repeatedly, grateful for the extra time before he was forced to give it, that it honestly hadn’t crossed Kian’s mind that most omegas had a grace period.

When he’d bedded omegas in the past, they’d stayed together the entire time, mostly fucking with a few brief naps and bathroom breaks in between. That also explained his lapse in judgment, mentioning the toy and bringing Sky’s attention back to what they’d done before he’d passed out.

Kian slowly eased a hand between Sky and the table, trailing his fingers down the omega's lower back until he reached the top of the sweatpants, trying to conceal the fact he wished he’d stayed in just the boxers he’d dressed the younger male in before putting him to bed on the table. “You’re already so wet. Can’t you smell it?”

Sky sniffed at the air dutifully despite the fact that hadn’t been an order. He sucked in a sharp breath after, as though he hadn’t been aware his body was already priming itself for another round. He’d seemed lost in thought a moment ago, so Kian doubted it was a rouse. Poor thing hadn’t figured out he was about to be jumping him, begging for cock a second time.

“Still want me to help you out?” He didn’t want to, but he forced himself to pause and give him a minute to consider. Kian was already rock hard, and any patience he’d had to resist was gone.

He’d rather sleep with his brother’s best friend than talk about his job or lack thereof.
